How Many Days Until Thanksgiving 2026?

When is Thanksgiving 2026?

Thanksgiving in the United States is always the fourth Thursday of November, so the date moves each year and can fall anywhere from November 22 to November 28. In 2026 it's Thursday, November 26, 2026.

The big number above counts calendar days: how many more mornings until Thanksgiving. The line underneath is the exact time left until midnight at the start of the day, on your device's clock, and the boxes break the same wait into weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds.

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday

The long weekend comes as a set. Here's how far away each day is, counting live.

Thanksgiving dates for the next few years

Counting down from Canada? Canadian Thanksgiving is the second Monday of October, so it's usually six or seven weeks earlier. This countdown follows the US date.

A Thanksgiving countdown plan

• Four or more weeks out: book flights or trains. The days around Thanksgiving are among the busiest travel days of the year in the US, and fares tend to climb as the date gets closer.
• Two to three weeks out: settle the guest list and who brings what, and order a fresh turkey if you want one, since local butchers and farms take orders early.
• The weekend before: if your turkey is frozen, check how long it needs. Thawing in the refrigerator takes about a day for every 4 to 5 pounds, so a large bird may need to go in the fridge several days ahead.
• The day before: make pies and sides that keep, set the table, and do a last grocery run early, before the stores get busy.

After Thanksgiving

On the day, the countdown wishes you a happy Thanksgiving. The next day it starts counting to the following year's, and the year in the heading changes to match, so the same bookmark works every November. Next up on most calendars is the Christmas countdown.
