Set a time. Focus. Done.
Pick a length and start. When it reaches zero, its Chiko celebrates, a soft chime plays, and you get a “🎉 Focus complete” notification (if you allow them). It never starts another session on its own: that's the difference from a Pomodoro.
Start it from the target button when you hover over the notch, from Notchiko's menu bar icon (Start Focus Timer (25 min)), or in Settings › Timers › Focus Timer. Notchiko remembers the length you used last, so starting again is one click.
Lengths
- 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, 45, or 60 minutes are included free. 25 minutes is the default.
- With Notchiko Lifetime, set your own length, anywhere from 1 to 180 minutes.
Right in your notch
While it runs, its Chiko sits by the notch with the time left underneath. Hover over the notch and its card shows the time and a progress bar; click it for Pause, Resume, Reset, and Stop. When it's done, the notch says Done until you choose Start Again, Change Duration, or Close.
It never runs long because your Mac slept
Notchiko remembers when the timer ends instead of counting down second by second. If your Mac sleeps through the end, or Notchiko was closed, it shows as complete as soon as you're back, not “5 minutes left”.
Focus Timer, Pomodoro, or Stopwatch?
- 🎯 Focus Timer: one countdown. Focus for 45 minutes, then done.
- 🍅 Pomodoro: 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute break, and repeat.
- ⏱ Stopwatch: count up, with laps.
A native Mac app
Notchiko is built in Swift for macOS, works offline, and has no account or tracking. On Macs without a notch, it shows as a small floating pill you can put at the top, sides, or bottom of the screen. It needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The Focus Timer's presets are free; Lifetime is a one-time $4.99.
