Privacy Policy
Notchiko is made by LemonPillar LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Notchiko Mac app and the notchiko.app website.
The short version:
- Your countdowns, Chikos, and settings stay on your Mac.
- The app has no accounts, analytics, ads, or tracking.
- This website counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics: no cookies, no personal profiles.
- The app only goes online when you buy, restore, or move a Lifetime license.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details.
Information that stays on your Mac
Your countdowns (names and dates), the Chiko you pick for each, and your preferences (like where Notchiko sits on screen) are stored only on your Mac. We can't see them. Uninstalling Notchiko and deleting its data removes them.
When you buy or manage Lifetime
When you buy Lifetime on notchiko.app or in the app, or restore or move a license, Stripe and our license server at api.notchiko.app handle it:
- Checkout: Stripe collects your email address and payment details. Stripe tells us the payment succeeded and shares your email address and payment reference so we can issue your license. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- License records: we store your license key, your checkout email, Stripe payment references, and whether the license was refunded.
- Activation: to keep a license to one Mac, the app sends an anonymous Mac identifier (a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware ID that can't be turned back into it), the license key, and the app version. We store which identifier is active for each license.
- Emails: we send your license key, and keys you request with "Email My Key", through Cloudflare's email service. We don't send marketing emails.
We use this information only to provide, restore, and support your license. We don't sell or share it.
This website
notchiko.app uses a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics service to count page views and see which pages and links are useful. It sets no cookies, doesn't track you across other sites, and only keeps aggregate numbers (such as pages viewed, referring site, country, and browser type); your IP address is used briefly to count unique visits and is not stored.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process basic request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect it.
How long we keep it
License records are kept for as long as your license exists, so you can restore it anytime. Email us to delete your license information. Deleting it means the purchase can no longer be restored.
Children
Notchiko isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Your rights
You can ask us what license information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@notchiko.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Meaningful changes will be noted on this page.
